Well, I’m back to the normal grind of daily living. Which is never a bad thing, mind you. Early Graves just played their first shows in a year. To be able to put in words what was felt on that stage is something that I cannot do.
All I can say, from my point of view, is that it was a year’s worth of heartache put on display. Learning all of the lyrics for that band and being able to sing these songs live, that Makh had written, was an incredible experience. I would never change that for the world.
Therapeutic and exhilarating all in the same. I’m just extremely proud of the other guys in Early Graves for getting back into the practice studio and making something out of what seemed to be nothing.
Talk about the ultimate optimism for such a negative band! Not to drive this point into the ground, but I’m just extremely excited about what has happened here. If you didn’t get a chance to catch either performance at the Power Of The Riff in Los Angeles or San Francisco, here are some videos:
So, with all that being said, I couldn’t be more excited with the way things are currently going. Oh and if you’re in San Francisco on September 17, be sure you come and check out Early Graves with the almighty RORSCHACH!!! It’s also my birthday that weekend, so buy the band and maybe me a drink! We’d love to have you out. Thanks for dealing with this rambling but it’s my first day back to normal life!
Give me some feedback on those videos as well; I’d love to hear from anyone/everyone about the new Early Graves! We’ll also be playing new songs live. We played them over the weekend, so if you did hear them, say what’s up! Tell me if they suck or not. I’m sure I’ll have a relevant and decent column soon!
Cheers and remember, hold on to your friends.
