Moonloop Exclusive Song Stream: “Deceiving Time”

Deeply From The Earth

Stop what you are doing, and head for the end of this post right now.

That is where you will find an exclusive song from Moonloop’s forthcoming album Deeply From The Earth. The track is called “Deceiving Time,” and Moonloop are basically my new favorite band.

Formed in 2001 in Barcelona, Moonloop specializes in progressive death metal. If you dig Opeth and Gojira, you will love Moonloop.

The riffage is huge, the vocals — expansive. There is nothing I don’t love about this song and this new album, which drops July 15.

Named after a Porcupine Tree EP, Moonloop are everything that’s right with metal; they’re experimental, they’re huge-sounding, and they’re pushing the envelope. Fuck it — they’re burning the envelope, folks.

We’ll have an interview with Moonloop for you real soon, but in the meantime, check out this track. Try ad tell me you don’t love it. As far as debuts go, they don’t get much better than Deeply From The Earth.

Very nice. It reminds me a lot of old Opeth.
The song definitely deserves a better audio production.

It’s pretty good. It sounds like the Unforgiven at the beginning, then Disincarnate, and then Cynic, and then Opeth. All I hear is other bands. Good stuff though, I guess.
