Riotgod Exclusive Song Stream: “Crossfade”

Riotgod

What’s that you say? Not familiar with Riotgod? Well, that’s about to fucking change, son.

Riotgod began in spirit through conversations between Monster Magnet’s Bob Pantella and Jim Baglino while out on tour as early as 2006. Both wanted a new forum to be able to express themselves.

During their time off the road, the pair began exploring the possibilities of creating their own band. Bob began to lay down some ideas to get the ball rolling come 2007.

Now, five years and an album later, the band have returned with their second album, Invisible Empire, which was released through Metalville in October.

If you like stoner rock imbued with metal, then you need to check out this tune from Riotgod. The song is called “Crossfade,” and it rips.

Check out “Crossfade” now and tell us what you think of it.

Mark Sunshine, Riotgod’s frontman, explained the meaning to Gun Shy Assassin by email: “To suddenly become aware of processes, desires, thought patterns. To realize things that were once unconscious, harnessing that underlying energy, able to direct it, though never ever speaking about it to even friends. A secret life dominated by sexual obsessions and in certain instances, the almost surreal nature of a desire or daydream repeatedly imagined, becoming reality after careful planning or fortunate accident.”
