Taake Exclusive Song Stream: “Nordbundet”

Dig it

Gun Shy Assassin is overjoyed to be able to bring you an exclusive first listen to Taake’s song “Nordbundet,” which appears on the Norwegian-based black metal act’s forthcoming fifth studio LP, Noregs Vaapen — in stores November 1.

Basically, for those that don’t know, Taake is the brainchild of Høst (known for his work with Ragnarok), and is essentially a one-man band. But the album actually features a number of severe metal sovereignty.

Guests on the new album (which is fucking glorious, with insane yet melodic guitar work and infectious drumming) include Darkthrone’s Nocturno Culto, Attila Csihar of Mayhem, and Immortal’s Demonaz.

The album was produced by Bjørnar E. Nilsen (Dead to this World, The Batallion, Helheim, Vulture Industries, etc.) The album also throws a few curveballs, with more black n’roll grooves, ice-cold mellotrons, and a white-trash banjo. Cal it Taake’s most diverse and unique recording to date — I think it’s fucking amazing.

Listen, and try to tell me you don’t want to hear the rest. Tell us in the comments section below what you thought of the track, and how many times you just had to listen to it.
