I love when chicks try too hard

Now, here’s a sub-genre I may be able to get behind.

Meet Butcher Babies, who specialize in what they’ve dubbed “slut metal.” I guess that’s because two former Playboy TV and radio personalities who wear little more than electrical tape front the band.

I guess then I could start a sub-genre called “Awesome Motherfucker Metal,” if that’s all it takes. I mean, they’re sluts, and in a band — so that makes them slut metal? We’re going to invent a cheesy catchphrase around this nonsense?

I have no problem with women showing off skin, so long as they’re not my woman. And if this chicks wanna call themselves sluts, that’s cool. But when you do shit like this (i.e.; show off your tits), you’re a gimmick.

Butcher Babies — a Plasmatics ripoff — is fronted by Carla Harvey and Heidi Shepherd, the two sluts. They are backed by Henry Flury of Amen on lead guitar, Jason Klein on bass, and Chris Warner from Scars of Tomorrow on drums.

The band claims its sound is “heavy fucking metal co-fronted by two girls that don’t give a shit, and backed by three guys with writing techniques so different that they complement each other. Between our combined influences of thrash, punk, experimental, death, and nu-metal, we’ve managed to create our own sound that, in a nutshell, is pure sex, blood, and rock and roll.”

Shepherd was asked by that pathetic excuse for a magazine Revolver (who need to stop trying to be a poor man’s Maxim) what slut metal is.

“We can’t go balls out — so we go tits out! When girls are perceived as sexual or outspoken, they get labeled sluts, but we embrace those qualities and bring them to our music as well. Butcher Babies is true slut metal: We’re doing what we want, how we want.”

If they’re true slut metal, they’ll blow dudes at their shows. Just putting that out there. Otherwise, it’s just prick-tease metal.

They have a self-titled EP coming out at some point. Now…boobs.
