Trevor Strnad's Deadspeak

Two weeks ago, we debuted Black Dahlia Murder frontman Trevor Strnad’s new column “Deadspeak,” with an ode to metal-loving pizza delivery dudes. And you all loved his tribute to the 20-minutes-or-less men who keep the pizza-chomping public happy. This week, he’s got something different for us.

When we first asked Trevor to contribute to Gun Shy Assassin a month or so ago, we told him there were no rules. If he wanted the space, it was his to do whatever he wanted. Whatever he chose to share with our readers was entirely up to him…so long as it didn’t involve most forms of bestiality. Most. This week, Trevor hits us not with an ode, but with lyrics…to “a song about how I feel (every other day),” he explained to us. So here it is: Strnad’s song about the day after a night of debauchery.

I got the hangover blues
I got the hangover blues
It feels as if my mouth is molting
And there’s vomit remnants on my shoes

I got the hangover blues
I got the hangover blues
Hash browns seem a world away
To my battered knees, so bruised

I got the hangover blues
I got the hangover blues
I smell like a foreign exchange student
And my blood it’s slow to move

I got the hangover blues
I got the hangover blues
I awoke next to a slam troll
Who looked like your uncle Stu

I got the hangover blues
I got the hangover blues
I lost my credit card again
And my mind’s gone with it too

I got the hangover blues
I got the hangover blues
You think that I would have learned by now
But what else is there to do?
