Now this is just about the craziest lineup of players for a single event I have ever seen. Thus far.

Dave Grohl has assembled a number of all-star musicians for a gig at Park City Live in Park City, Utah, on January 18, to celebrate “Sound City,” Dave’s doc on the defunct recording studio.

Dave’s Sound City Players include some of the biggest names in rock from over the ages, including John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks, and fucking Rick Springfield.

The players also include Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Chris Goss of Masters Of Reality, Nirvana’s Pat Smear and Krist Novoselic, Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett of the Foo Fighters, and Rage Against The Machine’s Brad Wilk.

Lee Ving of Fear will also be part of the event, along with former members of the Wallflowers and The Jayhawks, a completely underrated band that are not metal but nonetheless awesome.

The “Sound City” soundtrack follows the February 1 release of the film, hitting stores March 12.

What the hell does that mean? … “f*cking Rick Springfield” …. perhaps you should listen to some of Rick’s music OTHER than Jessie’s Girl (i.e. the albums Shock, Denial, Anger, Acceptance; Venus in Overdrive and his latest, Songs for the End of the World) before writing something that makes you sound like a total dick. Dave Grohl sees in Rick what lots of us do, a seasoned MUSICIAN who is damn near one of the best guitar players you will ever hear. He deserves to be part of this eclectic group of musicians just as much as the rest of them do.

It was an expression of excitement, dude.

Perhaps an exclamation point (!) would have sufficed. It doesn’t read as “excitement”…

Oh, yes, I’m SURE Rick Springfield is the highlight for him. snort! Insecure & unattractive men have problems getting beyond Springfield’s good looks to the talent shining behind.
