Alice In Chains Working On New Record…Says Chick From Heart

Alice in Chains

Why the hell is Ann Wilson of Heart talking about the new Alice in Chains record? That’s what I thought when I first found out that Alice in Chains are making another record.

Then, I read that Ann Wilson is apparently an old friend of the band. How? Why? I mean, no disrespect to Heart — I just don’t get the connection. I’m guessing its solely based on locale: Heart are also from Seattle. I’d do more research on that, but I don’t have all day here people.

The grunge masters have already begun working on the the follow-up to 2009’s gold-certified album Black Gives Way To Blue, which was a fucking really good record. If you haven’t heard it, you should check it out. Solid and inspired, is what that record is.

Wilson told Ultimate Classic Rock she visited Alice in Chains this weekend at the recording studio where they’re working on their new album, which currently does not have a title and is reportedly set for release in early 2012.

Nice. I’m looking forward to 2012 already. Now I have even more reason.

Wilson said the band sounds “amazing” on the new material and said, “How can Jerry not sound amazing, but I mean, it really does — they’re a monster.”

Ann Wilson provides backing vocals on the Alice in Chain song “Brother” from the Sap EP. A quick Google search of Alice in Chains and Ann Wilson will tell anyone not already aware. Plus you don’t need to really get the connection, friends don’t need to be the same age, gender or play the time type of music…

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA this was one of the most idiotic things I have seen from a writer.
Chris Harris, dude you don’t know what you’re saying do you?

You’re either very naive musically or live under a rock if you don’t know the connection between Heart and Alice in Chains.  You probably didn’t even know that Alice’s bass guitarist was a member of Heart for several years.

If you are actually a “music journalist” you might want to consider doing your research before writing something like this that exposes your lack of credibility.

I can’t know everything about music, just as you couldn’t. I probably know a lot of stuff you don’t know, chappy, and so, I invite you to visit other blogs in the future.
