Amorphis

This is very good news. Finnish progressive metallers Amorphis are working on new shit. The band have entered recording studios in Helsinki to begin tracking their tenth studio LP.

The disc will be out in early 2011. The band have a deal with Nuclear Blast. I personally can’t wait to hear this record, because Amorphis make me giddy. Giddy, I tell you — giddy! Clearly, I didn’t get enough sleep last night.

Amorphis recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, releasing a retrospective collection called Magic & Mayhem – Tales From The Early Years. The set features re-recorded versions of the songs from their first three release.

The band’s last record, Skyforger, dropped in 2009 and was chosen as the Metal Album of the Year at the Finnish version of the Grammys. Prog metal…you’ve got to love it. And if you don’t love, get to fuck!
