Baptized In Blood Offer Free Song Download

More free metal for you this week. I am liking this new trend of labels offering free song downloads to fans ahead of album releases. It gives potential fans an idea of what they’re in for. And I am somehow certain it’s probably quelled illegal downloading. But that’s just an assumption on my part and you know what happens when you make an assumption: You make an ass out of you and umption. So, yeah — sign up for Roadrunner’s mailing list (I presume), and then you can download a free track from Canadian metal outfit Baptized in Blood. This band is — as a press release so proudly boasts — co-managed by none other than Dave Mustaine from Megadeth. So, as you can imagine, these dudes like to shred.
I mean, in all honesty…this song, “Last Line Lady,” isn’t anything mind-shattering. It’s a fist-pumping rocker that’s going to be “heavy” for anyone who thinks Disturbed or Papa Roach is metal. It isn’t severe, but has attitude and vocals that would remind you of, like, a cross-hatch between Sick of it All’s Lou Koller and Dicky Barrett of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Dude, trust me. I used to love me some Bosstones back in the day.
The band’s self-titled debut drops October 19, with cover art from the good Mike D’Antonio, lord bassist from Killswitch Engage. Mike is also a graphic artist, and does lots of band art, including all of Killswitch’s shit. Dude is a double-threat. Triple, if you count those dimples.
