Blogger Details Lamb Of God Show Where Randy Blythe, Fan Scuffled
Posted by Chris Harris on June 29, 2012 in News, This Blows
I had a bad dream last night that this shit in Prague didn’t end up blowing over for Randy Blythe, and the United States government tried to intervene but then listened to some Lamb of God records and had a change of heart. In the dream, there was a West Memphis 3-like outpouring of support for Randy. I dreamt Blythe ended up behind bars, for a good stretch, putting the band on hold.It fucking sucked. Look, clearly, I dig Lamb of God. I like their music, and I like them as dudes. Chris Adler is one of the coolest guys I’ve ever met. Do I want any of this shit to be happening to Randy? No fucking way. Do I want it to be resolved quickly, with favorable results for Blythe? Yes.
But fuck, man — after reading this eyewitness account of that show two years ago (courtesy of The Gauntlet), where Blythe allegedly was embroiled in a physical altercation with a fan who rushed the stage, I’m not feeling very optimistic.
Of course, Blythe — who is probably in Pankrác Prison — was arrested in Prague yesterday because the kid he got into it with two years ago allegedly ended up succumbing to his injuries.
According to a local Czech blogger who was at the show, “Randy behaved exactly as I expected him to, a son of a bitch who pisses off everyone. He’s confirmed by firing up several fans. [Randy] was very irritated when someone decided to join him on stage. At first Randy hit him a lot, then Randy jumped on him to hold him down while he continued singing.”
Fuck. By the way, I love how most people are reacting to this news by being bummed they might miss the Dethklok and Gojira tour.
“When the fan got up, Randy took him by the hair and threw [him] down quite quickly,” reads the blog. “It was a good thing the fan was so dazed that he probably felt nothing. It took him a little while to realize what happened and as he struggled to get his breathe back. Randy does behave quite pretentious, but the performance was important to him.”
Fuck.
The blog also contains comments from fans who were at the show that evening.
“He came down with a thud, when he fell down,” says one post. “The kid died after 14 days in a coma for bleeding in the brain!”
FUCK!
“Everything OK with that guy who fell down after a stage-push? We saw ambulance late after concert,” reads another.
“OMG impossible! The vocalist should be sued then… He pulled him really heavily,” says one other poster.
This is not good, folks. I will leave it at that for now.
Meanwhile, Randy’s brother, Mark Blythe, has told Richmond news station WTVR that the charge is “bogus and outrageous and will be dropped immediately.”
