Borknagar Get A New Drummer

Norway’s Borknagar have a new drummer: Baard Kolstad, who plays for ICS Vortex.

Kolstad made his recording debut with Borknagar on their cover version of Metallica’s “My Friend Of Misery,” which was featured on the 20th-anniversary tribute to Metallica’s self-titled album, available with the September 2011 issue of Germany’s Metal Hammer magazine.

“[Baard] is an extremely talented drummer. He is much younger than our old drummer and it’s brilliant,” says the band’s Øystein G. Brun.

Borknagar’s new album Urd is slated for release March 27 in the states, and a day earlier in Europe.

The CD was recorded with Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden.

That’s rad. I can not wait for this record. I wish I had more time to discuss it.
