Candlemass, Entombed Cover Each Other

It's on

So, after weeks of feeling positive about the site and carrying on with it, I’m back to being bummed about it and wondering what I do it all for.

Certainly not for the money. Certainly not for the free shows, as I barely score tickets anymore from publicists anyways. I’m feeling a bit like a metal pariah…as though all this bridge burning has actually backfired and is just now catching up with me.

Do I do it for you, the reader? I’m definitely not doing it for myself anymore, because I want to nap, and I can’t nap with this site needing updating on the reg.

This has nothing to do with Candlemass or Entombed, who covered each other for some Scandinavian rock magazine. You can hear the results at the end of this post.

I wish I were like Invisible Oranges, which was just sold to BrooklynVegan. What — no one want to buy my content? I’m fucking burned out man, and tired of getting bad news.

Am I keeping it alive because I like Phish fans wishing death on me? Is that the reason? Am I just too stubborn to realize that people don’t want to read vitriol, and should I just start kissing everyone’s ass? I’d rather just pull the plug.

So, anyways, Candlemass tracked a version of Entombed’s “To Ride, Shoot Straight And Speak The Truth” while Entombed took aim at “Black Dwarf” for their cover.

Listen to them and let me know what you think.

As for the covers, couldn’t stand to finish the Candlemass effort (1st one), but Entombed (2nd one) was halfway enjoyable. Not much into covers though, unless it’s a well done Death song with all due respect.
