CKY Reveal Tour Dates, Touring Lineup

CKY

So, here’s the thing. I was into CKY’s earliest shit — before Island, before Roadrunner. It was just dumb, catchy rock that had a groove to it, and heavy-sounding guitars. I was also turned on to the band through the CKY video series that Bam Margera produced in the late 1990s. CKY aren’t the most original band out there. In fact, I’d even say that — if not for the success of Jackass — we’d probably never have heard of this band.

Notice the band thanks Johnny Knoxville in the liners notes of every one of their releases. They know who they owe their career to.

I’m not even sure if anyone really cares about CKY anymore, but here goes: The band is touring next month, and — in addition to frontman Deron Miller, drummer Jess Margera, and general nut-job Chad Ginsburg — the band will have bassist Matty Janaitis and keys man Robert Valeno out there on the road with ‘em.

And further proving my point, the band will be touring in support of their new track, “The Afterworld,” which will play during the closing credits of Jackass 3D, which hits theaters October 15. Here are those dates.

CKY tour dates:

October 29: Teaneck, NJ – Mexicali Live

October 30: Philadelphia, PA – Trocadero

October 31: Toronto, ON – Opera House

November 1: Flint, MI – The Machine Shop

November 2: Cleveland, OH – Peabody’s

November 4: West Dundee, IL – Clearwater Theater

November 5: Milwaukee, WI – The Rave II Downstairs

November 6: Minneapolis, MN – Triple Rock Social Club

November 10: Pittsburg, PA – Mr. Smalls Theatre

I always dug CKY. I think their last album was pretty decent. But you are right, without Jackass, no one would have heard of them. But a break is a break. White Zombie got truly noticed after being on Beavis and Butt-Head.
