Dave Grohl Putting Foo Fighters On Ice?

Dave Grohl

The Foo Fighters may not be metal, but Dave Grohl surely is. And besides, the Foo Fighters are basically one of the only good commercial rock bands around. Now, they’re maybe breaking up…probably.

Reports claim Grohl said Saturday that the band’s going on hiatus.

The Foo Fighters performed in New York’s Central Park as part of the Global Citizen Festival, a free show put on by the Global Poverty Project, and that’s where media folks caught up with Dave.

“Without making a big deal out of it, we don’t have any shows after this,” Grohl said.

“This is it, man. Honestly I don’t know when we’re gonna do it again … and this is the perfect place to do it.”

YIKES!

This, after what Dave said in August, during England’s Reading Festival in Leeds.

“Well, well, well,” he said, according to NME. “The (effing) Reading festival. You guys realize we’ve got a lot of songs to play. It’s the last show of the tour and it’s the last show for a long time.’”

At least now maybe he’ll put out a second Probot.

Well, my opinion of this is optimistic. Dave hasn’t had the best of luck with his side projects, (not that he needs to, he is the third richest drummer in the world) but i hope that he has enough time to create something audible! “them crooked vultures”? no thanks, Probot, ok but not great. Stuff with TD, childsplay. BUt the foo fighter have consistently had great albums with a top hit on every one. Maybe they’ll be back, maybe they won’t. R&R hasll of fame for the foo’s? No doubt in my mind, if they could get in now they would already be there.
