Deftones Release Alternate Version Of “Butcher”

The Deftones

I happen to love hearing altered versions of songs I’ve already fallen in love with, especially when done by the artists themselves. And the Deftones sort of excel in this department.

They’ve released a ton of acoustic and re-imagined versions of their songs in the past and they’ve all been brilliant. That acoustic version of “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)” with Jonah Matranga from Far and that version of “Teenager” with the dude from Idiot Pilot…all brilliant song originally, but made even better by some subtle tweaking.
Now, the band’s released an alternate — or “Midnight Airport” — version of “You’ve Seen The Butcher” online and it’s pretty sick — the result of a recent studio session between Chino Moreno and Far’s Shaun Lopez. Hear it after the jump.
