Deftones’ Unreleased Album To See Light Of Day

Chino Moreno

When Chi Cheng was involved in a car accident in 2008, it happened just as the Deftones were wrapping the writing for an album called Eros; in fact, I believe some tunes were even recorded.

The Deftones decided to shelve the album while Chi made his recovery, which has taken longer than we all expected or hoped.

But Chino Moreno in a new interview says Eros is not buried.

“I think [Eros] really captured that time in our lives and I don’t think we’re ready to look back at that time just yet,” says Chino.

“It’s really still fresh, like a fresh wound in a way, so it’s like one day we’ll release it but right now it’s one of the most personal things that we still deal with everyday so to kind of go there at this point when we feel like we’re really trudging forward doesn’t feel right,” he added.

The Deftones will release a new album, Koi No Yokan, on November 13.
