That’s right. About two minutes ago, Devin Townsend boldly and proudly declared on Facebook that Deconstruction, Gun Shy Assassin’s perhaps terribly premature pick for 2011’s album of the year, is done.

“FINISHED!,” the update reads. Comments and declarations of joy from fans immediately started following.

For months now, Devin Townsend has been toiling away in the studio, working on the forthcoming Deconstruction, an album that will likely feature guest vocals from a bevy of heavy metal’s frontman elite: Cynic’s Paul Masvidal, Gojira’s Joe Duplantier, Between The Buried and Me’s Tommy Rogers, Gwar’s Oderus Urungus, and Opeth’s Mikael Åkerfeldt.

Recently, Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato finished guest vocals for the disc, that led Devin to make the following statement: “Ladies and Gentlemen, @GregPuciato just tore me a new asshole. Fucking hell…AWESOME!”

It’s a good day, people…only because of this news.
