Devin Townsend Recruits Gojira Singer For New LP

The man

While not officially confirmed yet, Devin Townsend seems to have enlisted Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier to contribute guest vocals to his forthcoming LP, Deconstruction. This is what makes Devin so awesome.

First, he goes on Facebook and thanks Ihsahn, who confirmed he would be on Townsend’s super heavy album, which will be in stores this summer. Then, he thanks Mikael — leading to speculation that he’d snagged Opeth’s Mikael Åkerfeldt for the disc. He also thanked a Tommy, leading some to suspect he’d recruited Tommy Rogers from Between the Buried and Me for the effort.

Now, Dev’s Facebook reads, “Thank you Joe D,” which had led fans to believe he’s called on Duplantier for the set. Townsend is an admitted Gojira fan, so this is amazing news for fans of both Dev and the French metal band obsessed with whales.

This Deconstruction album is going to be the fucking business. Mikael, Joe, Tommy, and Ihsahn, all on the same record. Can you say aural orgasm?
