Ex-QOTSA Bassist Nick Oliveri In Standoff With Po-Po

Nick was just begging for them to cuff him

It’s super sad to see how this guy’s basically fallen apart since they kicked his ass out of Queens of the Stone Age. Truly very sad, because this dude has talent. He’s just a dick, from what I’ve heard.

But yes, it is true — former Kyuss and Queens Of The Stone Age bassist and vocalist Nick Oliveri was involved in a standoff with police at his Los Angeles home last night (July 12). This, according to TMZ.com.

It seems the whole thing started out as a domestic dispute between Oliveri and his girlfriend, which allegedly turned violent a few days prior.

When she returned to collect her things to move out last night, Oliveri forcibly locked both himself and the unnamed woman inside his residence.

An apparent standoff then ensued with a S.W.A.T. team being called before Oliveri eventually released both his girlfriend and later gave himself up. He has since been booked on a charge of felony domestic violence and was released after posting $100,000 bail.

He is the second bassist to get busted this week, after Coheed and Cambria’s Michael Todd was arrested for threatening to blow up a pharmacy if he didn’t get his Oxies.
