Foo Fighters Win Best Hard Rock/Metal Grammy

Posted by Chris Harris on February 12, 2012 in News

The Foo Fighters

So, early today, I called Sum 41 would win the inaugural “Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance” Grammy, totally forgetting the Foo Fighters were up for it.

I would have called it correctly had I remembered. Foo Fighters are an obvious, ultra-safe choice, but one I can’t really argue with, because…well…Dave Grohl is fucking metal and you best recognize.

The Foo Fighters took home the award at tonight’s 54th annual Grammy Awards.

The band bested the likes of Mastodon, Megadeth, Dream Theater and, of course, Sum 41 for the award.

I can live with this.

The award was one of four the band took home tonight.

Poo fighters should never have been nominated in the Best Hard Rock/ Metal Performance category, yet alone win it. They’re not even in the same class as Dream Theater, Megadeth and Mastodon.
