Gotthard Vocalist Killed In Motorcycle Crash

Steve Lee

What the hell, man?!? Metal dudes are dropping like flies in 2010, so I don’t think any of us should leave our houses until 2011. Just stay inside and fucking have groceries delivered. Tell your family to come see you because we can’t lose any more metalheads.

Blabbermouth reports that vocalist Steve Lee of hard rock veterans Gotthard died at the age of 48 in a motorcycle accident in Nevada yesterday. He died at the scene of the accident; according to reports, Lee was clipped by a semitrailer yesterday afternoon. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

An official statement on Lee’s death is expected from the band’s management and record company later today. Police claim Lee was part of a group of bikers, including Gotthard bassist Marc Lynn.

Not even two months ago, Lee was involved in “a horrible car crash” in Italy while “on [his] way home from a little vacation.” That accident involved six vehicles, but Lee was uninjured. In an online post around that time, Lee reflected: “I am OK. I guess I must have a ‘rock-loving’ guardian angel.”
