H.I.M. Working On New Music

WHY?!?!?!

H.I.M. are one of those bands whose appeal just escapes me.

I can’t understand these people who get H.I.M. tattoos and shit. That band is not good. At all.

Yet, they’re working on a new album called Tears on Tape. Lovely.

They also have a cover of Ké’s “Strange World” coming out digitally.

That song appears on the group’s XX — Two Decades Of Love Metal set, which drops November 6.

Love metal.

What the fuck is that bullshit?

They’re like The Cure in that they’re very depressive, only, they lack talent.

    Their musicianship is phenomenal ….Ville Valo is one of the most brilliantly poetic lyricists I’ve ever come across… He is the Edgar Allen Poe of the music world with his dark, romantic imagination …. But you Sir, are not only a poor writer, you are an @$$ of epic proportions.

    why did I got here? well, if this is a review, my mum is an astronaut and I am Helen of Troy hahaha There is someone without talent talking about the lack of talent of someone else. Hey Chris, this shit talks bad of you as a music journalist because this is not journalism. Remember, if you don´t support your ideas, you’re saying nothing, offensive yes, but no content, only anger. To me, HIM is a bit strange, they experiment and sometimes is better than others, but they have something you lack of: elegance. BTW, I am a literature critic, and is awful seeing this kind of articles, is what I show my students when I want them to see how NOT to write. Bad, bad.

    @Chris Harris Do you call yourself a journalist when you use such vocabulary? Also, a journalist is not supposed to say his opinion, nor criticize.

    About your opinion: HIM has proven themselves one of the best rock bands of our age, participating in the biggest festivals around the world. They managed to sell a lot of copies in the US without even advertising (talking about Razorblade Romance). They’ve been accepted in the metal community by Ozzy Osbourne and Tommi Iommi, the fathers of a genre you claim to be a fan of. But I honestly do not find it weird that you may not like quality music, considering the fact that most people don’t anyway. Maybe Linkin Park and their “original” sound appeal better to you. Maybe Nickelback and their “exceptional” music. For all I know, it might as well be Korn, with their “true and heavy presence”. Give me a break.

Nikki manaj is so famous in america for being a blemish on the face of the worlds ass. Ville Valo is among the top 5 Finnish musicians out there because hes been writing music that doesnt make people want to slam bunnies in car doors.

    Clearly the butthurt in these comments is from people that don’t understand that this is a blog. P.s. just because someone doesn’t like your favorite band doesn’t mean that they have no taste, it just means that they don’t like your music, the ignorance here is palpable. This is a blog about metal, most usually forms of extreme metal, not love metal, if you’re looking for a blog about rock’n roll you are surely in the wrong place. Him are about as metal as Charlotte. So Ozzy approves, doesn’t mean he considers them metal. Ozzy could approve of Him and say Obscura isn’t metal but that isn’t true. Grow up, the man has an opinion and he can share it.

    Any press is good press. Chris, youtube digital versatile doom tracks drown in this love, poison girl and right here in my arms. Afterwards, you may not like them but you can’t deny their talent. I’m not a beyonce or justin beaber fan but I’m not going to say they can’t sing. Ville valo of him has a four octave range in full voice. Not auto tuned. if you can’t listen to the music you are writing about , at least do your research first.
