H2O Releasing Album Of Covers

Toby Morse

I happen to think H2O were the shit. During the 1990s, I would crank that shit up and throw my hoodie on and fucking shoot scowls at dudes. Fucking good times. I’m actually quite excited to learn that the band is working on an album full of covers.

The band’s forthcoming album, Don’t Forget Your Roots, will see the band paying tribute to bands like The Ramones, Madball, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Dag Nasty, Rancid, Circle Jerks, Descendents, Cro-Mags, Bad Brains, The Clash, Government Issue, Verbal Assault, Gorilla Biscuits, 7 Seconds, Embrace, Social Distortion, Sick of It All and Warzone — all on one release.

“This album is extremely important to us,” says H2O vocalist Toby Morse. “These are bands that inspired us to start a band and who have inspired our personal lives. Also with so many young kids getting into hardcore every day, it’s good to always keep exposing them to the ROOTS of this music and getting them into some of the originators of hardcore/punk.”

Morse added: “We have all gotten to see these bands play live when we were young so covering their songs made us happy and inspired as kids feels amazing and we feel honored.”

Don’t Forget Your Roots drops this fall through Bridge Nine Records.
