I Was Right: More Pantera Re-Issues Coming!

Last week, I gave a first-listen review of a new track you can now here over at Pantera’s Facebook page called “The Will to Survive.” It was a leftover track from the Cowboys From Hell sessions and can be yours starting September 14 when the band celebrate’s the album’s 20th anniversary by re-issuing the album as a three-disc package with live cuts and an album’s worth of demos.I wondered if the band would be re-releasing all of its records when they hit 20, and dagnabit — that’s indeed the plan. I can’t wait to see what unreleased tracks we’ve never heard from the Vulgar Display of Power sessions. We just have two years to wait.
“We plan on doing this with all the Pantera releases as they come up on the 20th year,” drummer Vinnie Paul mentioned to Bravewords. “We’ve got two years to go for [Vulgar Display], but I know that it’s already in motion and there’s another track that we discovered that we never put on the record. It will have one more jam that nobody has ever heard. We were always a band that believed when it came to songwriting, it was all about quality and not quantity. A lot of bands would write 40 songs to see if they have ten good ones to put on the record. We wrote what was on the record — ten or eleven and that was it.” But “there will be something new on [Vulgar] that people haven’t heard.”
Fucking rad. More new Pantera coming. Two years is a long time to wait. Let’s try and see if we can get that one out earlier in the year, okay fellas? Here’s a cute chick to motivate you.
