Iron Maiden Axeman Teams With Ex-Sikth Leader In New Project

She's sikth

I don’t know about you, but I thought Sikth were a fucking awesome band. Tight, experimental, explosive, and groovy, all wrapped into a spastic mess of a package. They ruled.

So imagine the throbbing of the boner in my shorts when I learned that Sikth’s frontman Mikee Goodman has teamed up with Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith for a new band called Primal Rock Rebellion.

The band’s debut album will be released on February 27 on Spinefarm Records.

A press release says the band’s sound “fuses together two very different approaches to music — Mikee’s unique vocal tones and dark-yet-colorful lyrics, and Adrian’s instantly recognizable guitar melodies and song writing prowess. Adrian also plays bass throughout the album. All songs were co-written by Adrian and Mikee as individual pieces of work and recorded in creative windows of opportunity.”

You can have a listen to one of the band’s tracks after the jump.

Commented Adrian: “It was interesting doing this album with Mikee, not least because we have quite different influences. I was really pleased with the way it turned out. It has a really fresh feel to it.”

Added Mikee: “This album takes you on a really deep and colourful journey, lyrically and musically. Adrian and I were both very open to experimenting with each others’ musical styles and influences, which we feel created something new and exciting.”

Interjected Chris Harris: “Fucking A, boys. Let me stream something off that sonuvabitch, cool? By the way, did you guys see my Jergens? Can’t find that shit and I’m chaffing.”
