Iron Maiden Frontman’s Son’s Band Signs With Century Media

Man, I feel bad for Austin Dickinson. I mean, it’s super rad that his dad’s the lead singer of Iron Maiden, but he’s also the singer in a band that has just signed with Century Media; people will always compare his band to his dad’s and, dad’s band is always going to win out. I’d feel just as bad for Michael Jordan’s son if he started playing basketball. The band is called Rise To Remain, and before this week, I had never heard of them. Century Media will release the band’s debut album, City of Vultures, on October 11.
I wonder what Bruce Dickinson thinks of his son’s band — who a press release says are “one of the most exciting new heavy metal acts to come out of the U.K. in quite some time.”
“I hope a lot of people will respect this record, especially coming from a really young band, because there’s a lot that’s outside the usual metalcore cliché thinking box,” says Dickinson.
The album was produced by Colin Richardson, who is perhaps best known for his work with Slipknot.
The album was described in a press release announcing the signing as “an explosive, assured and extraordinarily diverse first offering that marks Rise To Remain as an extremely talented standard bearer for a new generation of metal bands.”
