Kid From “Sixth Sense” Signs On For Slash’s Horror Flick

Haley Joel Osment

Variety is reporting that Haley Joel Osment will star in “Wake The Dead,” a horror flick being co-produced by Slash through his horror film production company Slasher Films.

Jay Russell (who directed “Ladder 49”) will helm the film based on the graphic novels by Steven Niles. Osment will play Victor Franklin, a college student experimenting with reversing death. That’s never been done before in a horror movie.

According to Slash, “Wake The Dead” is “basically a modern, young Frankenstein story about a brilliant college student who’s discovered how to animate dead tissue — but he’s a teenager so he goes overboard.”

And then all hell breaks loose.

Slasher Films has three other films in development, including “Nothing To Fear,” about a town that sits on a gateway to hell; “Theorem,” about a mathematician who figures out an equation for evil [Edit: That sounds so awful it’ll probably be funny]; and “The Other Kingdom,” which is about a hospital struck by an epidemic that turns people into zombies.
