Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall Tour Confirmed

Killswitch Engage

This was fucking excellent news to awake to this morning.

Not only will Killswitch Engage be touring with Shadows Fall this winter, Acaro were picked to be the opening act. That’s fucking stellar. Three dope bands on the same bill? That never happens.

The tour, a press release says, will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Killswitch Engage’s landmark release, 2002’s genre-defining Alive Or Just Breathing. How? By playing it live in its entirety.

Those dates follow at the end of this post.

Alive Or Just Breathing is a flawless release, from first note to last. I listen to that record, and I am immediately transported back to that time in my life; it’s one of those records.

Fuck, so much has happened in the last ten years. This tour is going to be fucking sick, and yes, Jesse made better music with the band. There’s no argument.

By the way, why I am not sponsoring this tour is beyond me, but I will get to the bottom of it.

Here’s a trailer for the tour:

“I honestly never thought I would have the opportunity to sing these songs on stage with Killswitch again,” commented frontman Jesse Leach. “Now here I am back in the band and celebrating 10 years of the release of this record. I am absolutely thrilled for this tour. I can’t wait to sing ‘Rise inside’ and ‘Just Barely Breathing’ among others. On top of it all, we have our good friends in Shadows Fall and Acaro joining us. This tour will be one we will all remember!”

Commented Acaro: “It is our honor to have been selected to open the Killswitch Engage, Alive or Just Breathing 10th anniversary tour featuring Shadows Fall. We are, as expected, extremely excited to hit the road with two of the best metal bands playing today, and look forward increasing the size of the Acaro family in every city we hit. We thank the entire Killswitch Engage family for giving us this opportunity, and can not wait to meet new friends, see new cities, and melt faces across the country. We will see you soon.”
