Killswitch Engage Writing Material For New Album
Posted by Chris Harris on June 29, 2011 in New Records, NewsMike D’Antonio from Killswitch Engage is one of the coolest cats I’ve ever met. He’s a righteous dude, who slapped bass for Overcast and also plays in Death Ray Vision. He’s just a great guy with a great sense of humor. I’d set him up with some of my single friends, only he’s married.
In a new interview, Mike spoke about Death Ray Vision and the new Killswitch Engage album. Mike said Killswitch needed “a break. Badly. Now, a year later, it is time to kick things in gear again. Currently, everyone is individually writing demos for the next Killswitch Engage record. There is no release date yet, but I would assume it will be out early 2012.”
Mike then spoke about the shows Killswitch did last year with old singer Jesse Leach.
“It was amazing,” he says. “There was a certain charm to that incarnation of Killswitch Engage, and it brought back a rush of cool memories. Those songs are fun to play, and Jesse was the cherry on top.”
Could it happen again?
“We have been discussing a big Mass Metal type show (or shows) including all our friends. There is a good chance it will happen as long as the touring schedules jive.”
No word on what frontman Howard Jones’ status with the band is, after he allegedly knocked up a porn star and sent out a letter to every chick he’s fucked over, apologizing for his actions. I still want a copy of that letter. Come on, girls — stop keeping it to yourselves.
