Lamb Of God Book Summer Gig

Lamb of God

By this time next month, we should know where Randy Blythe stands with the Czech Republic.

Either the three judges hearing the Lamb of God singer’s manslaughter case will find him innocent or Blythe will go back to being a guest of their state.

I’m hoping the facts will pan out and Randy’s good name will be cleared.

No matter what the outcome, Lamb of God is ready to get back to business.

Perhaps hopeful for an acquittal, Lamb of God have just signed on for the “Resurrection Fest,” taking place the first three days of August in Viveiro, Spain.

The fest will also boast Killswitch Engage and Slayer…with or without Dave Lombardo, we can’t be sure at this point.

So I guess that puts the kibosh on any speculation Lamb of God would be playing this summer’s Mayhem Festival.

Blythe’s manslaughter trial is set to resume in Prague on March 4.

Either way, most probably there will be an appeal lodged, so I would not expect the final decision to take place before May-July. That is also why the judge did not request Blythe to come back after he gave his testimony, because even if found guilty, he will be still a free man (unless he violates terms of the bail) until the appellate court reaches the same verdict (unless Blythe decides not to lodge an appeal).

Also, in case that the expert witness testimonies that are planned for March will be unfavorable, the defense will most probably ask for another adjournment in order to have enough time in going around and fishing for expert witnesses who could paint a nicer picture for them.

Hopefully the news coverage will remain as high as in the initial days of the trial. During 3rd day hearing a sentencing of the former chief of Czech Lion’s Club for multiple counts of rape was taking place in the same building and all reporters went there instead.
