Lamb Of God: Donations Sought For Blythe Legal Defense

You want Randy free? Well now, you can actually help to free Randy Blythe, instead of just scratching it into your forearm or posting it on your fucking wall.

Lamb of God, in a statement issued Thursday, announced a fund for their singer’s legal defense in the face of manslaughter charges in Prague.

“As many of you know, Randy is being held in Czech jail for a crime we believe he did not commit. We are still learning about the legal system there and the situation is fluid,” says the statement.

“We have retained local legal counsel, have support from the U.S. embassy and we are flying over additional lawyers to try and assure that Randy has the best representation possible,” Lamb of God says. “As many of you have pointed out, the simple fact is that the legal fees are adding up very quickly.

“While we appreciate the outpouring of support, we are not interested in trying to profit or gather press or sympathy from this event,” the band says. This is true.

“We have assembled this page to make it possible for people that feel so inclined to donate to the expenses incurred in defending this case. One hundred percent of the money raised will go to the legal fees and any remaining balance will be given to a charity of Randy’s choice upon his release.”

Amen. I am glad the band are sending over more lawyers, and assuring Randy gets proper legal representation.

I think I may have to donate to the cause. It won’t be much, but even if everyone of their fans were to pony up a buck, that would more than pay for his defense.
Free Randy? OK…do something to fucking help.

    Lol someone who makes 250k A year that is on a major record label shouldn’t need donations like this. It’s a little ridiculous that there’s a fund for it.

      IIRC, most of that money went to posting his bail. Either way, legal fees add up terrifyingly fast.

      That said, I don’t personally think they’ll need that much more than what they can post up themselves.

    Hey Chris, I think you just may have a better response if you didn’t word your article that way.  Randy is our friend and we will certainly make sure that everything is taken care of.  There are plenty of Richmond bands that will be more than happy to have benefits if we need to.  Why don’t you come to Richmond and show your support Sunday?  We will all be out there in the 100 degree heat…
