Matt Barlow Launches Ashes Of Ares

Matt Barlow

Yup.

Some site called Rocket Queen Promotion has spoken with former Iced Earth frontman Matt Barlow about his new project, called Ashes of Ares.

“The band, at this point, consists of Freddie Vidales [formerly of Iced Earth], Van Williams [formerly of Nevermore], and me,” he says. “We will announce the other guys soon.”

Matt Barlow…man of mystery.

“I kind of had the name in mind and sold the idea to the guys. To me, it has a dual meaning, but I don’t want to spoil someone else’s interpretation. Let’s just keep the mystery for a while,” Barlow said, when pressed for the inspiration for the band’s name.

Matt says the band specializes in “straight-up heavy metal!”
