Maynard James Keenan Addresses Arizona Crowd; Gives Speech About Wine, Dreams

Maynard James Keenan

So, you may have noticed, but the site was kind of dormant all day. That’s because I wasn’t around.

I had to get out of my building and away from the smell of scorched mahogany so I went to visit my sister, her kids, my parents, and my cousin, who stopped by with his wife and kids.

I ended up falling asleep on her couch with a sleeping baby laying across my chest. How very metal of me, huh? Anyways, so, that’s why things were quiet.

At the end of this post, you can see a video of Maynard James Keenan — frontman for Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. It’s quite amazing.

I do not know why Maynard was speaking to a large crowd somewhere in Arizona. But he discusses dreams and wine and touring, and admits that all alone on a stage, without his bandmates, he feels like he’s “gonna shit [his] pants.”

The speech is quite cool, and kudos to RoyHam for tipping us to the video.

I’ve seen Maynard twice with Tool and I’ve come to the same conclusion many others have drawn, he’s an egotistical elitist prick and could care less about his fans.A great musician lyrically and vocally but horrible fan relations. Honestly, tired of hearing about the bald little man…
