Mike Patton To Score Ryan Gosling Film

Mike Patton

That’s right, folks.

Mike Patton — arguably the one person you could say fits the phrase “The Man” — has been selected by writer and director Derek Cianfrance to provide the score for “The Place Beyond The Pines.”

The movie, the next from the “Blue Valentine” filmmaker, stars Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper and the always delicious Eva Mendes.

Patton, who rose to prominence as a teenager as the frontman for Faith No More and is known as one of music’s most eclectic musicians, has done a series of scores over the past few years, so this is nothing new.

He worked on the scores for “A Solitude of Prime Numbers,” “Crank 2: High Voltage” and the short film “A Perfect Place.”

Patton is also currently working on a new Tomahawk album with a projected late summer release date.

That’s rad. He’s also said to be working on new Lovage, and really, I pray and hope new Faith No More is being constructed.
