Poison The Well Go On Hiatus

Poison The Well

So, this is something of a bummer.

Poison the Well are taking a break, according to the band’s MySpace page. I first spotted this story on Lambgoat, and I couldn’t believe the headline. These guys are awesome, and some of the coolest dudes you’ll meet. Depressing news, people.

“So, after twelve years of being a band, countless tours around the world and records being released, we have made the decision to take some time to explore other interests in our lives,” the band revealed in a statement. “We’ve all reached a point where we feel like we need to take a step back from the band and pursue other things. PTW has been an all encompassing, full-time thing for such a long period that this isn’t an easy thing to do. We want to thank everyone who has supported us in anyway, whether it be buying a record or a shirt, to the occasional robbery from time to time. Once again, thanks for everything and we couldn’t have done any of this without you.”

I wonder what happened here. What brought on this move. What the real story is. Anyone know? Email me. I’m also wondering when PTW will reunite. I give them three years.

UPDATE: The band has since clarified their original statement, saying, “Just to be clear…PTW is NOT completely done. We just want to take a break for a while. I know we will create again, that’s not an issue. we just have to be in the right head space and want to do it. Let some time pass and I think we will be good to do a tour or a record. We are just a bit burnt out on everything.”
