Portnoy, Sheehan, Others To Tour

She hates Mike Portnoy

So, what’s it called when a bunch of dudes from other bands join forces just to tour? Just to jam? You could not call that a band, could you?

I say no.

But basically, drummer Mike Portnoy, bassist Billy Sheehan, guitarist Tony MacAlpine and keyboardist Derek Sherinian have revealed they will team up this fall for an extensive tour of Europe and Asia.

The virtuoso band will play an all-instrumental set consisting of material from each of their solo records and their previous collaborations as well as classic instrumental covers and extended solo spots.

Hmm.

All instrumental? You guys can’t pull in a singer for a couple of tracks?

This sounds awful, no? Glad it’s not coming to America.

The band will play one warm-up show in New York on November 18 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill, though.

Tickets for that show are on sale now.
