Rage Against The Machine: No New Album In The Works

Tom Morello

Well that just sucks. I have to say, I want to hear another Rage Against the Machine album. To quote O.J., “I would love to.” Love. Give me new Rage Against the Machine, and you give me happiness. I will always love Rage. Alas, no new Rage Against the Machine album will be forthcoming.

Tom Morello says in a recent interview I read on Blabbermouth that the band has one gig scheduled for this year. Other than that, nothing.

That one gig is with Muse and Rise Against on July 30 in Los Angeles. Rad for you guys. We get your Big Four sloppy seconds and you get Rage Against the Machine AND Muse. Lucky fucks.

“Right now there are no…You know, the band is not writing songs, the band is not in the studio,” said Morello. “We get along famously and we all, you know, intend to do more Rage Against the Machine stuff in the future, but beyond sort of working out a concert this year, there’s nothing else on the schedule.”

That blows. In the meantime, Tom Morello is very busy. He’s got a new EP called Union Town on the way. It will be available May 17, and profits from sales of the disc will benefit The America Votes Labor Unity Fund. Morello will also release his third solo album under his The Nightwatchman moniker. That one’s called World Wide Rebel Songs, and will be in stores in late summer.
