Ginger with Zombie and the band

Ginger Fish has been officially named the new drummer for Rob Zombie. The former Marilyn Manson drummer (real name: Kenneth Robert Wilson) has replaced departed kitman Joey Jordison, who bailed because of scheduling conflicts with his cash cow band, Slipknot.

Ginger Fish — who quit Manson months ago — played his first show with Zombie on February 6 at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, California. He was filling for Jordison while Joey was overseas with Murderdolls, and is back with the band in time for their U.K. trek they’ve got lined up next week.

Congrats, Ginger. Get ready to hear the word “Yeah” screamed more than a person normally would scream that word.

In a recent interview, before Joey split, Zombie said that the current incarnation of his band was the best, saying “This is the best it’s ever been. I mean, it always gets better and better, but I really can’t imagine it ever getting better than this because everybody in the band is such a perfect fit for what we need to do and, you know, there’s been times where there’s nice people in the band or good players, but they just sort of weren’t the right person but they could fake it onstage.

“But this is the first time we’ve really had four people that are all like-minded. I don’t know, it’s just perfect. I mean, we would all be friends if we weren’t in the band. We’re all that same type of personality, it’s great.”
