Rudy Sarzo, Glen Drover Join Geoff Tate’s Band

Rudy Sarzo

Geoff Tate is no longer a member of Queensrÿche, but that sure isn’t stopping him from touring with his own version of Queensrÿche, a la Axl.

Tate confirmed last month he’d be supporting Alice Cooper on a Canadian tour and that a Queensrÿche “anniversary tour” would follow in 2013.

And now, we know who will be in Tate’s band.

Rudy Sarzo is in the band, playing bass. Glen Drover, known for his work with Megadeth and King Diamond, will be on guitars, and Ratt’s Bobby Blotzer will man the kit.

Guess that’s why Rudy bailed on Blue Öyster Cult in July.

Kelly Gray (Queensrÿche) will play guitars, with Randy Gane playing keys.

“Geoff and Queensrÿche and Ratt have a long history of touring together and I am very excited about this new project with Geoff and the guys,” says Blotzer.

Adds Drover: “[Queensrÿche] is a band that I grew up with and have always respected a great deal. [It] will also be great to play with the other musicians involved that I have never played with before. [I am] really looking forward to to this!”
