Second Dimebash: Details Revealed, Just No Bands

Dimebag

The second annual Dimebash event — being held in honor of the late “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, iconic guitarist for Pantera and Damageplane — will be held at the world-famous Key Club on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California, on December 14.

Fellow musicians will pay homage to one of metal’s beloved fallen heroes by performing songs either written by or that were an inspiration to Dimebag. We just don’t know at this point which musicians will be there.

That’s always good. Announce an event but not who will be there. I mean, I guess people will go just because of Dime’s name, and because it’s in honor of Dime, but let’s get some names confirmed to stir up some authentic excitement.

All proceeds raised during the event will benefit the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up & Shout Cancer Fund.

Doors will open at 7 p.m., with performances going on at 8 p.m. Tickets are priced at $20, which, coincidentally, is the same price of the new Gun Shy Assassin tee.

The first Dimebash 2010 was held on October 29, 2010.

Those who took the stage for the event included Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, Slipknot’s Joey Jordison, Machine Head’s Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel, Slayer’s Kerry King and Dave Lombardo, In This Moment’s Chris Howorth and Maria Brink, and Joey Vera of Armored Saint.
