Slipknot, Slayer, Jane’s Addiction Dudes To Partake In African Fundraising Concert

Jane's Addiction's Dave Navarro and Perry Farrell

The one and only Henry Rollins — you know, from Black Flag and the Rollins Band — has recruited Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, Slayer’s Dave Lombardo, and Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro for a November 30 fundraiser.

Rollins also secured Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian for the concert, along with John 5. The benefit concert will go down at the Avalon in Hollywood, California.

All proceeds from the concert will go to Drop In The Bucket, a Los Angeles- and Gulu, Uganda-based non-profit organization that constructs water wells and sanitation systems at large rural schools in sub-Saharan Africa.

Now that’s a charity I can get behind.

A press release claims “Legendary artist Shepard Fairey, who designed the exclusive poster for the event, will be a guest DJ, and Kate Flannery of ‘The Office’ will deliver a hilarious musical comedy routine with her ironic lounge act, The Lampshades.”

Sounds like a fucking riot! I kid.

If you live in Los Angeles, you should go this. Sounds like it may be a real ruckus time, and a once-in-a-lifetime musical event for the ages. OK, now I am just talking out of my bloated ass.
