Steve Howe Bails On Asia

Steve Howe would approve

Yes…Asia.

Look, I know this is a fucking metal blog, but I also happen to love — LOVE — prog rock and prog metal.

I also happen to dig half the shit my father played for me as a kid (Pink Floyd, Camel, Moody Blues, The Police, Yes, and on and on), so when I see Asia news, my instinct is to blog about it, if only for my dad’s sake.

Also, most would argue Steve Howe (who is a member of Yes, as well) is one of the most beloved guitarists on the planet. The fact that he’s leaving Asia to focus on other projects is news, folks. Watch how many “likes” this post gets.

Howe co-founded Asia in 1981 with John Wetton, Geoff Downes and Carl Palmer.

“Myself and the band wish to thank their fans for the enthusiasm shown during the original members’ reunion,” says Howe in a statement. “I will continue with Yes, and with my trio and solo guitar work. I wish my friends continued success.”
