System of a Down

In a matter of hours, System of a Down — dormant for five years now — are expected to announce that they’re back and bigger than ever. Today’s the day, folks…System will make their reunion official, announcing a slate of European festival performances.

The other day, it was revealed System have been confirmed for the Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals, to be held June 3 to June 5 in the respective German towns of Nürburgring and Nürnberg, and they’re expected to tell folks today that they’re playing the Download Festival, which is set for June 10 to June 12 in the U.K.‘s Donington Park. On Sunday, it was revealed that System are expected to also announce that they’ll be headlining next year’s edition of the Metaltown festival, set to take place June 17 and June 18 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Of course, System never broke up officially; they just went on hiatus. We just never thought they’d make a return…or at least not this quickly. The official confirmation of System’s participation in all of these festivals will be made at some point today.

Wonder if we’ll get a new SOAD record out of these guys before they go on hiatus again so Serj Tankian can release more crappy solo albums.

I found serj’s effort pretty decent and liked his songs too. I wouldn’t call them crappy :/
