System Of A Down Frontman Seeking Funding For Orca Project

Serj Tankian

How dare he!

It used to be that if an idea wasn’t marketable, it wouldn’t be made because…well, no record company would finance it.

Then someone started Kickstarter, and now every album no one wants can be brought to life by those with extra cash lying around.

The very wealthy lead singer of System Of A Down, Serj Tankian, has started a Kickstarter campaign for his orchestral side project Orca.

Because he doesn’t have $25,000 of his own money to throw away on it.

“I am very excited to share my most personal, compelling musical project to date: my first-ever full symphony called Orca,” writes Serj.

“I have an incredible opportunity to record and perform Orca live with the world renowned Das Karussell Orchestra (featuring members of the Bruckner Orchester) at Brucknerhaus in Linz, Austria on October 28th, 2012 and with your involvement and support, we can make it happen!”

What do you get for your donation? Most will get you an email thanks from Serj. You can find more specifics here.
