The Deftones To Release New LP This Fall

Chino Moreno of the Deftones

OK, so, we have some good news and some bad news.

The bad news is, the other day, when we reported that the Deftones would be entering a studio this summer to record a new album for release later this year, we were wrong.

The information did, after all, come from an interview with Chino Moreno that wasn’t in English, the only language I am fluent in. So, I claim ignorance here.

The good news is, the band will be entering the studio in a matter of days to start recording the new Deftones record.

The better news? Moreno now tells a radio station in Buenos Aires that “right before I came last week, we finished all the writing, so next week, when I get back, we start recording and we should have a record that comes out early fall… October. Maybe September.”

I am psyched. So much so that I may have to go run through my neighborhood giving away free frozen turkeys.
