Wow.

Just when I was getting over being totally floored by news of a new Melvins release comes word of a free EP from the band.

The Melvins will release Scion A/V Presents: The Bulls & The Bees as a free download on March 13 at this location.

The effort features five new songs, marking the band’s first original material since their 2010 outing The Bride Screamed Murder.

The five songs on EP are: “The War on Wisdom,” “We Are Doomed,“ “Friends Before Larry,“ “A Really Long Wait“ and “National Hamster,“ which may be my favorite name for anything.

The Melvins will release a new album with Trevor Dunn (Secret Chiefs 3, ex-Mr. Bungle) called Freak Puke on June 5.
