Van Halen

This, according to some site called MelodicRock.com. Never heard of them before today, so I don’t know how reliable this all is, but Van Halen’s apparently begun working on their next LP.

The band have tapped Ross Hogarth to produce the effort; he’s worked previously with Motley Crue, Coal Chamber, and DevilDriver. Hogarth wrote online back in early July that “The record I just started ROCKS!!! [It] will be amazing… That is all I will say…”

Meanwhile, Warner announced in August that it had extended its publishing administration contract with guitarist Eddie Van Halen and drummer Alex Van Halen, noting that the band “is currently in the studio recording an album with (singer David Lee) Roth that is due for release in 2011.”

Billboard claims Van Halen’s manager Irving Azoff has said in two seperate conference calls that VH was expected to hit the road next year, presumably in support of a new record. Azoff also heads Live Nation.

So, this is big news. My buddy Vinnie’s psyched. I’m assuming.
