Four years ago, New Jersey-based hardcore metal outfit 40 Below Summer reunited to work on a record that was eventually released in 2013.
For some, the band’s return was warmly welcomed. For others, 40 Below Summer were regarded as something of a joke — a nostalgia act that harkened back to a time long gone and long forgotten.
Over the years, I’ve changed my tune on crowdfunding. It’s simple: If you like what a band is doing and want to help them continue to do it, why not support them directly?
Anyways, 40 Below Summer are now in the process of writing material for a new album.
To record and release it, they have a launched a crowdfunding campaign, hoping to generate $20,000 from their fans.
Help support the band’s efforts here.
And if you are, indeed, feeling in a generous mood, may we suggest you pledge your support to this site, as well?
Between now and May 9 (two days before the site’s registration’s set to expire), you can become a GSA patron here for merely $12 a year.
That’s a dollar a month. A quarter a week. You can’t even fucking feed kids in Africa with that little, dude!
