I have always followed Philly groove metallers A Life Once Lost because I have always loved the records they put out. Like their last one, Iron Gag. That thing was pure chaotic genius, with Bob Meadows screaming like a madman. But it came out in 2007, and we basically haven’t heard much from the band since. They’ve been laying low.
But the comeback is imminent. The band’s been working quietly on a new record for months now, and Metal Injection got dudes to shoot an exclusive studio report on theor forthcoming disc, which may even be out before the end of the year.
A Life Once Lost has been keeping fans posted via Facebook, telling everyone in their most recent wall post that the “New ALOL is coming together very nicely,” and that they’d just finished up another demo track for the disc. Raditudinal, dude! They’ve also got a rough demo up on their MySpace page called “Expression of Hate” which sounds painfully awesome. Some sick-ass bass, and Bob is back sounding like Mike Patton with strep throat. And it stops on a dime. Me likey.
